Scope This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies general rules common to the chemi- cal analysis of zirconium and zirconium alloys. 2. Def
5、initions The definitions of principal terms used in this Standard shall be in accordance with JIS K 0211 and JIS Z 8402. 3. General Matters General matters common to the methods for chemical analysis shall be in accordance with JIS K 0050, JIS K 0115, JIS K 0116, JIS K O119 and JIS K 0121. 4. Sampli
6、ng and Treating of Analytical Sample 4.1 Sampling 4.1.1 Preparation Method for Chlorine Analysis Sample of Sponge Zirconium The preparation method of chlorine analysis sample of sponge zirconium shall be as follows: (3) (4) Take a sample representing a lot from the lot and reduce it to about 1 kg. f

Transfer the chips into a container made of zirconium or stainless steel and stamp it with a rod made of zirconium or stainless steel to granulated pieces of not more than 4760 pm specified in JIS Z 8801. Thereafter, remove mixed iron content by using a magnet. When the quantity of chips is much,
11、reduce it to about 20 g by using a riffle sampler or other method to prepare a test sample. 13、determination of chodne) of zirconium shall be ai follows: (1) Take a sample representing a lot from the lot and reduce it to about 1 kg. Then, divide the reduced sample by using a riffle sampler, prepare six samples of about 150 g, fuse each of them by vacuum arc and prepare six pieces of zirconium
14、 buttons of about 50 mm in diameter and 10 mm in thickness. (2) Remove the adhering substances on a surface by using a brush or the like. After washing with acetone, cut a surface layer of 1 to 2 mm by using a lathe to be removed. Allow X-ray fluorescence analysis to be carried out by using those bu
15、tton samples. (3) Sample chips from the cut surface of each button sample by drilling to reaching 1 to 2 mm from the back surface in accordance with 4.1.1 (2), as appropriate. However, use a drill of 25 mm in diameter and allow the number of increment to be sampled from one piece of button to be one
