10、ermining the repassivation potential for crevice corrosion from the reciprocating anode polarization test of stainless steels in a neutral aqueous solution containing chloride ions. 2 Normative references The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this Standard, constitut
11、e provisions of this Standard. The most recent editions of the standards (including amendments) indicated below shall apply. JIS K 8150 Sodium chloride JIS R 6252 Abrasive papers JIS R 6253 Waterproof abrasive papers 3 Test method 3.1 Measuring apparatus The measuring apparatus shall consist of a po
12、tentia/ galvanostat, a potential-sweep apparatus, a recorder, an electrolytic cell and a ther- mostat. An example of the apparatus is given in Attached Fig. 1. Remarks : A personal computer may be used instead of the potential-sweep ap- paratus and the recorder. 3.2 Test solution For a test solution
13、, 330 mg of sodium chloride of guaranteed grade specified in JIS K 8150 is dissolved in distilled water or deionized water to make 1 O00 ml, which is adjusted to be a 200-ppm chloride ion (Ci-) aqueous solu- tion. The temperature of the test solution shall be 50 f 1 OC. When agreed upon between the
14、supplier and the purchaser, test atmospheric conditions other than this may be adopted. 3.3 sured as follows: Measurement The repassivation potential for crevice corrosion shall be mea- 3.3.1 Test piece A test piece shall be prepared as follows: a) The test piece shall be the crevice test piece betw

16、ions and shape may be used as agreed upon between the supplier and the purchaser. The method for sampling a test piece shall be carried out by saw cutting, cut- ting or grinding. When done by shearing, since the test surface (the crevice part) shall not be influenced, the area affected by shear of t

18、nse from IHS -,-,- 2 G 0592 : 2002 c) The test surface is successively polished by the abrasive papers specified in JIS R 6252 or JIS R 6253 to No. 240 or finer, avoiding temperature rise of the test piece, and further successively wet polished up to No. 600 of the abrasive papers specified in JIS R
19、 6253. In order to prevent local corrosion on the surface of the test piece except the crevice part under test, passivation treatment (for example, immersing for 1 h or longer in 20 % to 30 % nitric acid solution at 50 OC) may be carried out after polis hing. A lead wire is soldered or spot welded t
20、o one end of the test piece. For final polishing of the test piece, only the crevice part of the test piece is pol- ished by No. 600 abrasive paper specified in JIS R 6252 or JIS R 6253 just be- fore the measurement.
