9、iquids as the items of provisions have been reconsidered, the designations of three classes of high viscous standard liquids have been modified, and the stability of viscosity of standard liquids has been summarized as the Annex. I approximate values about the kinematic viscosity and viscosity of th
10、irteen classes of 1 Scope This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies hydrocarbon oil to be used for the standard liquids for calibrating viscometers (hereafter referred to as “standard liquids“). However, the distilled water (l) to be used as standard liquid is excluded. Note (l) Distilled water sh
11、all be in accordance with JIS Z 8803. 2 Normative references The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this Standard, constitute provisions of this Standard. The most recent editions of the standards indicated below shall be applied. JIS R 3503 JI$ Z 8803 Glass apparatus
12、 for chemical analysis Viscosity of liquid - Methods of measurement 3 Definitions The main terms used in this Standard are as defined below. a) b) Newton liquid A liquid in which shear stress is proportional to shear rate. viscosity An internal resistance of liquids, when a shear rate exists in a li
13、quid, to be expressed by the stress per unit area which is produced in the direction of the rate, on the plane perpendicular to the direction of the shear rate. The dimension is: (Mass) (Length) x (Time) c) kinematic viscosity A quotient of the viscosity divided by the density of the liquid in the s
14、ame condition. (LengthI2 (Time) 4 in Table 1 according to their kinematic viscosities. 19、om the standard value given in Table 2. 5.2.2 As for the standard liquids of JS 14 O00 to JS 160 000, the verified value of kinematic viscosity at 20 “C specified in 5.8 shall not deviate by more than f10 % fkom the standard value given in Table 2. 5.3 Verified value of kinematic viscosity and visco
20、sity i 5 . 3 . 1 The verified values (2) of kinematic viscosity and viscosity for the standard liquids of JS 2.5 to JS 2 O00 shall be derived from the measured values at temperatures of 20 O C , 30 O C , and 40 O C with a measurement accuracy o f f 0.1 910. Note (2) The verified values shall be the
21、measured values obtained fkom the measurement by the National Research Laboratory of Metrology, Agency of Industrial Science and Technology, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. -,-,- . 22、 verified values (2) of kinematic viscosity and viscosity for the standard liquids of JS 14 O00 to JS 52 O00 shall be derived from the measured values at temperatures of 20 O C , 30 O C , and 40 O C with a measurement accuracy off 0.2 %. 5 . 3 . 3 The verified values (2) of kinematic viscosity and v
23、iscosity for the standard liquids of JS 160000 shall be derived from the measured values at temperatures of 20 O C and 25 O C with a measurement accuracy off 0.2 %. 6 Quality 6 . 1 The standard liquid shall be a transparent hydrocarbon oil free from any suspended matter, additive, and other harmful
24、matter, shall be a Newtonian liquid and satisfy the requirements of 6.2. 6.2 Stability 6 . 2 . 1 The variation of kinematic viscosity and viscosity shall be within the range given in Table 3 when the solution was stored for one year under the condition specified in 8.1. 26、d Industry is shown in Annex (informative). 6.2.2 When the standard liquid has been kept at 50 O C for 5 h in open air, the variation of kinematic viscosity and viscosity after heating as compared with before heating shall be within 10.1 %. Remarks: The stability test should preferably be conducted
27、by the National Research Laboratory of Metrology, Agency of Industrial Science and Technology, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. 7 soda-lime glass in quality specified in 4 of JIS R 3503. Container The container for standard liquids shall be made of glass equal to 8 Handling 8.1 ligh
28、t with its container plugged tightly. The standard liquid shall be kept at room temperature shielded form heat and -,-,- 4 Z 8809 : 2000 8.2 The standard liquid, after using, shall not be returned to the former container. Reuse of the used liquid should preferably be avoided, and once the container
29、is opened, the liquid should be used up as soon as possible. 9 the example given below. Designation of product The standard liquid shall be designated as shown in Example: Standard liquid for calibrating viscometer JS20. . 10 Marking and test certificate certificate (3) and the following items clear

The standard liquid shall bear the test Note (9 The test certificate shall carry the verified values obtained from the test by the National Research Laboratory of Metrology, Agency of Industrial Science and Technology, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry and

32、4 m 5 2 8809 : 2000 Annex (informative) Stability of viscosity of standard liquids Introduction This Annex describes the stability of viscosity of standard liquids and not constitute a part of provisions. 1 Stability of viscosity It is supposed that some days elapse before the standard liquids speci
33、fied in this Standard are supplied to and used by the user after the verified values of viscosity have been obtained by the measurement at the National Research Laboratory of Metrology, Agency of Industrial Science and Technology, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. However, the change
34、 of viscosity to hinder the measurement shall not be permitted during the period. An example of the stability test result on viscosity of samples carried out at the National Research Laboratory of Metrology, Agency of Industrial Science and Technology, the Ministry of International Trade and Industr
35、y shall be shown in Annex Table 1 and Annex Fig. 1.
