This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the test method for the welded joints of members with the same cross section (hereafter re
6、ferred to as “welded joints“) to each other by the upset welding, the flash welding, the gas pressure welding, the friction welding or other butt pressure welding methods. Scope Remarks: The following standards are cited in this Standard. JIS 2 2241 Method of tensile test for metallic materials JIS
7、22244 Method of Vickers hardness test JIS 2 3001 Welding terms JIS 23121 Methods of tensile test for butt welded joints JIS 23122 Methods of bend test for butt welded joint 2. 3001 apply. Definitions For the purpose of this Standard, the definitions given in JIS 2 3. section macroscopic test, sectio
8、n hardness test, tensile test and bending test. Kind of test The kinds of the test shall be five consisting of appearance test, Test material and test piece Preparation of test material The test material shall be prepared as follows. Material The material to be used for the test material shall be eq
9、uivalent to that to be used in manufacturing the practical product in terms of the material, the shape, the dimensions, the heat treatment condition, the property of the butt face, the surface condition, etc. As for the annular member, the test material shall be prepared as it has the annular part.
10、Welding facilities The welding facilities such as the power source, the welding apparatus to prepare the test material shall be the same as those to be used for manufacturing the practical products. Welding conditions The welding conditions to prepare the test material shall be the same as those to
11、be used in manufacturing the practical products. Jigs, electrodes, etc. The welding jigs, the electrodes to be used in preparing the test material shall be the same as those to be used in the practical works. Heat treatment When the material to be used in manufacturing the practical products is heat
12、-treated after the welding, the test material shall also be heat- treated in the same manner. Preparation of test piece The test piece shall be prepared as follows. Appearance test piece Burrs or swellings generated in the welding shall not be removed for the appearance test piece, except those whic
13、h are automatically removed during the welding. If nec
15、essary, the macroscopic structure shall be treated so as to be closely observed with the corrosive solution suitable for the material. The section macroscopic test piece and the section hardness test piece shall be commonly used. Burrs and swellings shall be removed until they become flush with the
16、surface of the tensile test piece. However, in the case where the practical product with burrs and swellings are used in the state as it is, it may be submitted to the tensile test as it is. If the test piece is too large for the tensile test to be carried out, a tensile test piece of appropriate di
17、mensions shall be cut out, or two or more test pieces may be cut out as indicated in Fig. 1. In such cases, the sectional area of the test piece shall be as large as possible, and the diameter for the test piece of circular section shall be 8 mm or over, and the sectional area of the test piece of r
18、ectangular or arcuate rectangular section shall be 50mm2 or over. If the test piece is too complicated in shape to mount on the tensile tester, (3) Tensile test piece a suitable doubling plate may be welded. Fig. 1. If the practical product is used with th
20、e burrs and swellings as they are, the bending test piece may be as welded. If the test piece is too large, hollow in structure, or with the irregular section and the bending test is difficult to carry out, the bending test piece of appropriate dimensions may be cut out of the test material. The sam
21、pling method of the test piece in this case shall be as indicated in Fig. 1. Heat treatment of test material Normalizing or annealing shall not be achieved to remove burrs or swellings, or to facilitate the machining to cut out the test pieces in (2) to (4) above.
