Scope This Japane
6、se Industrial Standard specifies the method of cyclic oxidation testing at elevated temperatures for metallic materials. Remarks. The standards cited in this Standard are given in the following : JIS B 7502 Micrometer callipers JIS B 7507 Vernier, dial and digital callipers JIS C 1602 Thermocouples
7、JIS R 6251 Abrasive cloths JIS R 6252 Abrasive papers JIS R 6254 Endless abrasive belts JIS Z 8401 Rules for rounding off of numerical values 2. Definitions The definitions of principal terms used in this Standard are as given in the following: scale by oxidation. adherent scale test piece is rubbed
8、 with a nylon brush after the oxidation test. total depth of attack The depth from the surface of a test -piece before testing to the good metallic phase after testing. spalled scale Scale flaked off from the test piece after the oxidation test. affected layer Zone which is subjected to change by ox
9、idation. low temperature area Zone of low temperature side of oxidation testing cycle in which heating and cooling are repeated. high temperature area Zone of high temperature side of oxidation testing cycle in which heating and cooling are repeated. temperature rising time Time necessary to reach t
10、he holding temperature in the high tempera-ture area when a test piece is moved from the low temperature area to that of high temperature. Oxide film and oxidized products formed on the surface of test piece Scale adhering to the test piece even when a surface of the Test apparatus Construction of a
11、pparatus Whole of the apparatus shall be composed of a temperature regulating device for heating the test piece uniformly at a constant temperature, a heating and cooling device equipped with the testing portion providing with heating and cooling zones that are separating the test piece from outside
12、 air, and a humidifying regulator, blower, air flow meter and hygrometer by which the air is supplied continuously and kept at a constant humidity. 17、e in the following : The heating and cooling device shall be as given (i) The heating and cooling device shall be of the structure having the test portion composed of heating and cooling zones that are shielded from outside air. (2) The heating and cooling device shall be of the structure which is c
18、apable to reciprocate the test piece from the heating zone to cooling zone and vice versa, otherwise the structure which is capable of cyclic heating and cooling of the test piece by moving the heating furnace. In heating a test piece, a heating furnace with a temperature regulating device which is
19、capable of heating evenly at a constant temperature all over the test piece within the permissible range given in Table 1 throughout the testing period. In the case where the temperature of the test piece is 573 K or lower or higher than 1273 K, however, the permissible range shall be agreed between
20、 the customer and supplier. (3) I 5 Exceeding 1073, up to and including 1273 (4) The test piece shall be stood to cool. 3.3 Testing Portion The testing portion shall be as given in the following : (i) (2) The testing portion shall be of the structure having a heating and cooling zones. The inner par
21、t of the testing portion shall be shielded from outside air in order to allow the humidity regulated air to flow continuously at a constant volume per unit area on the surface of the test piece. The inner part of the testing portion shall be composed of an inert material against the test atmosphere
22、during the test. (3) 3.4 Temperature regulating device 3.4.1 Measuring instrument The measuring instrument shall be capable enough to guarantee that the temperature of test piece is kept within the permissible range given in 3.2 (3) throughout the full range of measuring temperature. 3.4.2 Thermocou
23、ple The thermocouple shall be as given in the following : (i) The material of the thermocouple shall withstand throughout the testing temperature. Further, the diameter of the wire is preferably smaller one as far as the thermoelectric power does not vary in servicing. Copyright Japanese Standards A
