2、en approved by the Bureau of Naval Weapons, Department of the Navy. 1.SCOPE 1.1Scope - The equipment covered by this specification shall provide beating, distance, and tone identity informationto indi- cate the location of a complementarysurface station with resnect to the aircraft. As a discrete au
3、xiliary function,the equipment shall also provide informationto indicatethe link distancewith respect to a similarlyequipped aircraft. This equipment is the airborne portion of the short-rangeair-navigationsystem known as TACAN (tacticalair navigation.) . 9 - No data is requiredby this specification
4、 (othes;ccofingsamplessubmittedfor testing) orby applicabledocuments,unless specified in the contract or order (See pa=gzaph 6.7). 2.APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1General - The documents listed in 6.9, of the issue in effect on the datitationfor bids, form a part of this specifi- cation to the extent spec
5、ified krein: FSC 5826 Ku-R-8u05(wP) 3* REQUIREMENTS 3.1Preproduction- This specificationrmkes provision for preproductiontesting. 3.2 Parts and Materials - In the selection of wrtsand materials, fulfil%nentof major design objectivesshall be the prime con- sideration. In so doing, parts and materials
6、 requirementsshall be in accordancewith SpecificationMIL-I-81036. 3.3 Design and Construction. 3.3.1General - This equipment shall conform with all the appli- cable requiremnt-edificationMIL-I-81036 for design, construction and workmanship,except in the paragraphsas modified below. 3.3.2.1Operatioml
7、 Stabjlitv - The equipment shall operate with satisfactoryperformancefor 200 hours, continuouslyor intermittently, without the necessity for readjustment of any contrmlswhich are inaccess- ible duting flight. 3.3.3.1Cables and Connectors - Connectorsused for interconnection of removablemodrnishedfro
8、m -265 V +V DC source through external series sistor of LOO%lohms TransmitterLoad:SO ohms resistive 3.3.10.1Minimum External Cooljng Requirements- The equipment shall operate satisfactorilyunder the temperature-altitudeconditions specifiedfor Class 2 equipmentperSpecificationMIL-E-hOOwhen external c
9、ooling air is supplied at the rate indicated in Figures 1 duration at the 3 volt level shall not exceed 30 microseconds. Synchronization: The 10 volt level on the leading edge shall occur at least 0.5 but not more than 5.0 microsecondsbefore the poin at which the trans- mitted A/A reply pulse or the
10、 first pulse of the tmnsmitted interrogationpulse pair reached l of its maximum voltage amplitude. 17 KLL-R-81105(wI?) (7) (8) Spufious output: Any spurious output at the blanking pulse trigger terminal shall not exceed + 1.0 volt in amplitudewith the specified load mpedance.Spurious output shall be
11、 defined as any output outside of tkrmximum dimensions of the blanking pulse tripper envelopemitted above, with an additionzil 30 microsecondsallowed for the decay fmmthe 3 volt to the 1 volt level. OperatingMode:Blankipulse trigers shllbe generated only when the equipment is in the T/R or A/A modes
12、 of operation. 3.4.10.2EL.%ICBlankinE Pulse Output - The equipmntskall generate a single blanking pulse, with Characteristicsspecified belcw, for each interrogationpulse Ftior each A/A reply transmitted. Duration at tlw 1 volt level shllnot exceed 30.5 microseconds. Synchronization: The blanking pulse shall reac
14、h 3 volts amplitude 0.5 to 5.0 microsecondsahead of the point at which thtransmittedA/A reply pulse or the first pulse of a transmitted interrogation pair reaches 10% of its maximum voltage amplitude. Spurious Output: Any spurious output at the ELRAC blanking pulse connector shall not exceed + O. vo
15、lt in amplitude with the specifiedload mpedance. Spurious output shall be defined as any output outside of the maximum dimensionsof the ELRAC blanking pulse envelope permittedabove, with an additional30 microsecondsallowed for the decay from the 1 volt to the 0.5 volt level. OperatingMode:Blankiwpul
16、ses shall be Fenerated only when the equipmntis in the T/R or A/A modes of operation. _. 3.L.1O.3 Suppressionfrom External Source - An input shall be provided to receivean externallygenerated blanking pulse.This pulse shall desensitizethe receivingfunction as described in 3.4.4.2.1. 18 MIL-R-81105(W
17、P) In the AN/ASQ-88 system this blanking pulse will normally be suppliedby the IFF equipmnt.The suppression input shall present the following lead impedanceand operatewith blanking pulses having the follouing - characteristics: (1) (2) (3) (b) (5) (6) (7) (8) Polarity:Positive Amplitude:15 to 30 vol
18、ts Load Impedance: Not less than h700 ohms in parallel with 100 picofarads. Rise Time:1.0 microsecondsmximumfrom the 3 volt to the 15 volt level. Synchronisation: The blanking pub e shall reach 15 volts amplitudewithin the period .O microseconds preceding to 3.0 microsecondsfollowing the point at wh
19、ich the first transmittedpulse of a train reaches lC% of its maximum voltage amplitude. Duration: The blanking pulse shall remain at 15 volts or greater amplitude from 7 to 17 microseconds after the tzailing edge of the last pulse of tk transmittedpulse train bsdecayed to 10% of its maximum voltage
20、amplitude. Decay Time:2.0 microseconds volt to the 3 volt level. Spurious Output:Neither the maximum from the 15 DC steady-state out- put potential nor the instantaneouspeak AC poten- tial of spurious signals shall exceeds1.0 volt. 3.5 Detail Requirements 3.5.1Receiver-Transmitter, Radio -736/ASQ-88
21、 - The radio receiver-transmitter shall meet the following requirements. 3s.1.1Function - When installed in an AN/ ASQ-88, the radio receiver-transmitlprfonnthe following functions: (1)In responseto trigger signals supplied from Decoder, Pulse KY-531/AsQ-88,generate pulsed r-f signals on the selecte
22、d frequency channel for interrogationof TACAN nwigatinn beacons in the T/R mode, other similarly equippedaircraft in the A/A mcde adreplies to similarly equipped aircraft interrogationsgenerated in accordancewith 3.4.10.1 (2)Receive arridemodulatethe TACAN beacon bearing signals, distance replies, a

(4)Provide a video sirnsl for ope=tionof the deblocker circuitin the KY-531/AsQ-88. 3.5.1.2Form Factor - The radio receiver-transmittershall
25、be cmtained in a sileunit capable of being directly mounted to a shock- mounted equipmentshelf which in turn is mounted in an aircraft. The over-all dimensions,excluding protrusions,shall not exceed 7-17/32 by 7-37/6h by 22-37/64 inches. The front nelshall extend an additional l-1/32 inches below th
26、e base.Protrusions of 17/64 inches shllbe allowed on each side in addition to tbabove dimnsions. 3.5.1.3Weight - The weight of the receiver-transmitter shall not exceed LO.O pounds. 3.5.-L.4Contents - Theratioreceiver-transmitterskllinclude a multifrequencycrystal-controlledreceiverand transmitter,m
27、odulator, power supply, ard other circuitryrequired for Rrfonnanceof the specified functions. The unit shallbecontainedin a pressurizedcase and shall include a heat exchanger and internalblower as necessary for cooling. 39、 - The pulse decoder shall be contained jn a single unit capable of being directly mounted to a shockmountedequip- ment shelf which is in turn mounted in an aircraft.The over-all dimensions,excludingprotrusions,shall not exceed 7-9/16 by 6-15/32 by 22-33/64 inches. The front plate shall extend an ad
40、ditionall-1/32 inches below the base of the unit. Protrusions of 5/614inches shall be allowed on each side in addition to the above dimensions. 3.:.2.3 Weight - The weight of the pulse decoder unit shall not exceed 35.5 pounds. 3.5.2.4Contents of Pulse Decoder KY-531/ASQ-88-Thepse decoder unit shall
