8、ssemblies and receptacles used on medical x-ray equipment. -,-,- XR 7-1995 Page 1-1 Section 1 GENERAL 1.1 SCOPE This standard defines electrical and structural test requirements o f high-voltage cable assemblies and receptacles used in diagnostic medical X-ray equipment from 1OkV to 200kV. 1.2 REFER
9、ENCES There are no references to other publications in the Standards Publication. 1.3 DEFINITIONS high voltage x-ray cable assembly: a conducting cable and its terminals used to supply power from a high voltage power supply to an x-ray tube assembly. maximum operating voltage: the largest potential
10、difference dc from any conductor to the grounded cable shield or mounting hardware as specified by the cable assembly manufacturer in a properly mated and mounted condition under normal operating conditions. receptacle: that part of the x-ray tube assembly which acts as an interference to a high vol
11、tage x-ray cable assembly. room temperature: unless otherwise stated, tests shall be made at a room temperature not less than 16C (61F) and not more than 28C (82.4“F). 12、he tests described in this section are applicable to high voltage cable assemblies and receptacles used in medical x-ray equipment. 2.2 TEST CONDITIONS The tests shall be conducted in a manner to v e r i the performance characteristics of the cable assembly and the receptacle with which the cable te
13、rminations are normally connected. The cable terminations and receptacle shall be prepared and connected in accordance with the manufactureis specifications. The receptacle shall be mounted in a container filled with a high grade mineral oil to permit application of the specified voltage without arc
14、-over. The tests shall be performed at room temperature unless otherwise specified. 2.3 OVERVOLTAGE TEST These tests shall be performed at room temperature for 15 minutes and under the conditions specified in 2.2. 2.3.1 25% and a peak value of 125% of the maximum operating voltage. All inner core co
15、nductors shall be tied together. No electrical instability, as defined by the cable assembly manufacturer, shall be observed. The voltage shall be applied between the inner core conductors and the outer grounded shield. The overvoltage test shall be petformed with continuous dc voltage having a maxi
16、mum ripple of 2.39 test shall be performed by applying a peak alternating voltage at 125% of the maximum allowable potential difference as specified by the manufacturer. Each inner core conductor shall be tested with respect to each of the other core conductors. The 2.4 ELECTRICAL RELIABILITY TEST T
17、he electrical reliability test shall be conducted at an oil temperature of 100C f3“C for a duration of 200 hours under the test conditions specified in 2.2. 2.4.1 The reliability test shall be performed with unrectified 60Hz aiternating current voltage at a peak value of 100% of the manufacturers ma
18、ximum operating voltage. All inner core conductors shall be tied together. No electrical instability, as defined by the cable assembly manufacturer, shall be observed. The voltage shall be applied between the inner core conductors and the outer grounded shield. 2.4.2 test shall be performed by apply
19、ing an unrectified 60Hz alternating current voltage at a peak value of 100% of the maximum allowable potential difference as specified by the manufacturer. Each inner core conductor shall be tested with respect to each of the other core conductors. The 2.4.3 The reliability test for mammography cabl
20、es shall be performed with unrectified 60Hz alternating current voltage at a peak value of 100% of the manufacturers maximum operating voltage. No electrical instability, as defined by the cable assembly manufacturer, shall be observed. The voltage shall be applied between the inner core conductor a
21、nd the outer grounded shield. XR 7-1995 Page 2-2 2.5 CONTACT RESISTANCE TEST The contact resistance between each mating contact shall be measured after 1 O0 disconnects. The contact resistance between each mating contact shall not exceed 0.001 ohm after 100 disconnects. (Resistance of contacts for g

Additionally, the cable shall incorporate an outer fl
23、exible conductive screen providing a minimum coverage of 80 percent uniformly distributed on the external surface of the cable with a plastic cover resistant to abrasion and strain normally present in the environment in which the cable is used. It shall be sufficiently flexible to allow 50,000 cycle
24、s through a 3-inch bend radius and still meet the mechanical and electrical requirements of this standard. The cable assembly should incorporate at each end, means of assembling to the HV generator and X- ray tube assembly receptacles (for example ring nut). These means shall be designed so that the
