45、ot part of the Standard) This Standard was prepared by Telecommunications Industry Association technical standard subcommittee TR-30.3, “Data Communications Equipment Evaluation and Network Interfaces.” 5 This Standard defines a network model for performance testing of modems and similar devices int
46、ended for the transmission of nonvoice signals over the public switched telephone network. TIA/EIA-496A specifies the network interface characteristics relevant to connection establishment and disconnection. It is intended that this Standard be used with proposed TIA/EIA-3800, “Test Procedures for 1
47、0 Evaluating Voiceband Modem Performance.” There are six annexes in this standard.
