6、2964 NOVEMBER 2,1999 FOREWORD A. This Outline of Investigation contains basic requirements for products covered by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) under its Follow-Up Service for this category within the limitations given below and in the Scope section of this Outline of Investigation. They are
7、subject to revision as further experience and investigation may show is necessary or desirable. B. The observance of these requirements by a manufacturer is one of the conditions of the continued coverage of the manufacturers product. C. A product which complies with the text of this Outline of Inve
8、stigation will not necessarily be judged to comply with the Outline of Investigation if, when examined and tested, it is found to have other features which impair the level of safety contemplated by these requirements. D. A product employing materials or having forms of construction which conflict w
9、ith specific requirements of the Outline of Investigation cannot be judged to comply with the Outline of Investigation. A product employing materials or having forms of construction not addressed by this Outline of Investigation may be examined and tested according to the intent of the requirements
10、and, if found to meet the intent of this Outline of Investigation, may be judged to comply with the Outline of Investigation. E. UL, in performing its functions in accordance with its objectives, does not assume or undertake to discharge any responsibility of the manufacturer or any other party. The
11、 opinions and findings of UL represent its professional judgement given with due consideration to the necessary limitations of practical operation and state of the art at the time the Outline of Investigation is processed. UL shall not be responsible to anyone for the use of or reliance upon this Ou

The specific refrigerants include
15、EPA SNAP accepted automotive refrigerants. This Outline covers recoveryheuse equipment for a refrigerant that has been directly removed from a mobile air-conditioning system and is intended for reuse in the same mobile air-conditioning system or in a mobile air-conditioning system that is under the
16、control and direction of the same owner (such as a fleet). 1.2 This Outline applies to equipment used to service automobiles, light trucks, and other vehicles with similar mobile air-conditioning systems. 1.3 A product that contains features, characteristics, components, materials or systems new or
17、different from those covered by the requirements in this Outline, and that involves a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons shall be evaluated using the appropriate additional component and end-product requirements to determine that the level of safety as originally anticipated by the i
18、ntent of this Outline is maintained. A product whose features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems conflict with specific requirements or provisions of this Outline shall not be judged to comply with this Outline. Where appropriate, revision of requirements shall be proposed and adopt
19、ed in conformance with the methods employed for development, revision, and implementation of this Outline. 2 General 2.1 Units of measurement 2.1.1 When a value for measurement is followed by a value in other units in parentheses, the first stated value is the requirement. 2.2 Reference 2.2.1 Applic

Any updated reference to a code or standard appearing in the requirements of this Outline shall be interpreted as referring to the latest edition of that code or standard.
