This Outline
10、 of Investigation contains basic requirements for products covered by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) under its Follow-Up Service for this category within the limitations given below and in the Scope section of this Outline of Investigation. They are subject to revision as further experience and
11、 investigation may show is necessary or desirable. B. The observance of these requirements by a manufacturer is one of the conditions of the continued coverage of the manufacturers product. C. A product which complies with the text of this Outline of Investigation will not necessarily be judged to c
12、omply with the Outline of Investigation if, when examined and tested, it is found to have other features which impair the level of safety contemplated by these requirements. D. A product employing materials or having forms of construction which conflict with specific requirements of the Outline of I
13、nvestigation cannot be judged to comply with the Outline of Investigation. A product employing materials or having forms of construction not addressed by this Outline of Investigation may be examined and tested according to the intent of the requirements and, if found to meet the intent of this Outl
14、ine of Investigation, may be judged to comply with the Outline of Investigation. E. UL, in performing its functions in accordance with its objectives, does not assume or undertake to discharge any responsibility of the manufacturer or any other party. The opinions and findings of UL represent its pr
15、ofessional judgement given with due consideration to the necessary limitations of practical operation and state of the art at the time the Outline of Investigation is processed. UL shall not be responsible to anyone for the use of or reliance upon this Outline of Investigation by anyone. UL shall no
16、t incur any obligation or liability for damages, including consequential damages, arising out of or in connection with the use, interpretation of, or reliance upon this Outline of Investigation. 23、15.101 A plate jointer shall be provided with a guard that automatically retracts to the closed position when not in use. There shall not be provision for locking the guard in the open position. The guard shall be constructed so that is stays in contact with the workpiece when the tool is retracted,
24、 or when released from its full open position it shall retract to its fully closed position in a time not more than 0.3 s. Compliance is checked by inspection, and the following tests. One sample of the tool is to be conditioned by making 50 plunge cuts into soft pine wood that has been stored indoo
25、rs for 72 h prior to the sawing. The tool is then to be conditioned for 24 h in a relative humidity of 90 percent (plus 5, minus O percent) at a temperature of 32 I 2C (89.6 I3.6“F). 27、ulation of sawdust will not afect the closure time of the guard. The plate jointer is to be oriented so that the guard will impact the floor when dropped from a height of Im onto a concrete surface. The closing time is measured. The plate jointer is to be oriented in the hand carry position and drop
28、ped from a height of I m (3.3 ft) onto a concrete surface.
