3、for UL 60974-1 Questions regarding interpretation of requirements should be directed to the responsible UL Staff. Please see Appendix B of this bulletin regarding designated responsibility for the subject product categories. Please note that proposed requirements are of a tentative and early nature

The proposed requ
6、irements will not necessitate a review or additional testing of currently Listed or Recognized products. Therefore, UL proposes that these requirements become effective upon publication. RAT I O N AL E In response to requests from industry, UL is proposing the first edition of the UL/IEC Harmonized
7、Standard for Arc Welding Equipment; Part 1 : Welding Power Sources, UL 60974-1. The draft of UL 60974-1 consists of: a) The text of the IEC requirements as contained in the IEC Standard for Arc Welding Equipment; Part 1 : Welding Power Sources, IEC 60974-1. b) The UL deviations to IEC 60974-1. UL 60
8、974-1 is intended to cover arc welding equipment designed for industrial and professional use. Once this proposed standard is adopted, it may be used as an alternate for the requirements for these products which are presently contained in the Standard for Transformer-Type Arc-Welding Machines, UL 55
9、1. However, after UL 60974-1 is adopted, UL intends to process a proposal to revise the scope of UL 551 to only cover home/hobbyist arc welding equipment. The proposed UL 60974-1 will assist manufacturers interested in producing one product for use worldwide because deviations for UL compliance have
10、 been minimized. Additionally, the proposed standard clearly identifies where deviations exist from the IEC document, Arc Welding Equipment; Part 1 : Welding Power Sources, IEC 60974-1, and only specific country deviations will be necessary to obtain other country compliance. IMPACT Products of this
11、 type, currently covered under the categories ZGLZ, ZGLZ2 and ZGPU, will meet these new requirements, therefore a review of all currently Recognized or Listed products will not be necessary provided the requirements are published as proposed. UL proposes that the Standard becomes effective upon publ
