、3- 1. COMMENT RESOLUTION MATRIX. NOVEMBER 23,2004 BACKGROUND Comments received from the June 11, 2004 STP 1449 Meeting Report ballot were first noted in the comments matrix found in the September 28, 2004 Meeting Agenda bulletin for STP 1449. One of the main goals of this meeting was to resolve thos
、e comments. The Action / Disposition column of the comment resolution matrix in Appendix A indicates the STPs response to each comment received. Dispositions of those comments are found in Appendix B. 2. PRODUCTION LINE TESTING ON COMPONENT TVSSS (MOVS) BACKGROUND Since a revision to the Abnormal Ov
、ervoltage Tests will permit testing the lower voltage rated MOV to represent the higher voltage MOV from the same manufacturer and family, we need a descriptive method or follow-up tests to ensure that the chemical composition for each MOV within the family is identical. Based on the construction pr
、ocess of metal oxide varistors, there can be substantial variation in MOV characteristics, in particular the voltage at 1 mA . As such, production line verification of the 1 mA point, possibly on a sampling basis, needs to be discussed and a proposal formulated and then submitted. UL gave a detailed
、 overview of the background for this issue to the STP. Questions arose over the actual need for this testing on MOVs, as well as, other components submitted for UL Recognition. A general discussion on the types of acceptable testing and how to determine chemical compositions of MOVs ensued. The UL P
、DE will discuss this issue further with David Smith of Maida and Brian Walaszczyk of Littelfuse to develop a proposal. 3. TVSS FOR LPS UPDATE FROM THE CHAIRMAN BACKGROUND At the May 15, 2004 meeting, STP 1449 determined that action needed to be taken to address TVSS in UL 96a installations. STP 1449
、 at the May 15, 2004 meeting developed a proposal to be sent to STP 96 to revise paragraph 13.2 of UL 96A for ballot to STP 1449. ULs Bulletin dated June 11, 2004 transmitted this proposal to STP 1449 for ballot to determine consensus. This proposal was to be sent to STP 96 if consensus was achieved
、. Consensus was achieved as noted in this bulletin. Recognizing this proposal would take some time to ballot, the STP 96 PDE developed a proposal independently and sent it to STP 96 for comment. This proposal captured the intent, if not the exact words, of the STP 1449 proposal. This proposal was se
