General requirements for methods of analysis 3 Classification 3.1 Slab are subdivided: by a method of manufacturing: - non-cladded, without additional designation; - cladded: 1) with technological cladding - , 2) with normal cladding - A; by width accuracy of manufacturing: * GOST R 50779.71-99 is valid in the Russian Federation. 2 GOST 17232-99 - of normal accuracy, without additional designation; - of heightened accuracy - . 4 Technical Requirements 4.1 Slabs shall be manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this Standard from aluminum of grades: 7, 6, 5 and A0 with chemical composition in accordance with GOST 11069; from aluminum of grades 00, 0, and 1 with chemical composition in accordance with GOST 4784; from aluminum alloys of grades: , , AM2, M3, AM5, M6, 1915, , 1, 16, 95 and 4-1 with chemical composition in accordance with GOST 4784; from aluminum alloys of grades 19, 20 and 1 in accordance with normative documents. 4.2 Key Parameters and Dimensions 4.2.1 Slabs shall be manufactured, in dependence of the alloy grade and cladding, of the following dimensions, specified in table 1. Maximum length deviations of cut slabs depending on their thickness shall be as follows: - 30 mm for slabs with the thickness from 11 to 35 mm; - 50 mm for slabs with the thickness over 35 to 60 mm. 4.2.5 Slabs of more than 60 mm thick shall be manufactured by rolling from the whole ingot without cutting to sized lengths and without cutting of edges. The length of slabs is not standardized. 4.2.6 Nonflatness depending on the width of slabs shall comply with that specified in table 3. The conversion coefficients specified in Appendix B shall be used for calculation of theoretical mass of slabs made from aluminum and aluminum alloys of other grades. 4 GOST 17232-99 4.2.8 Grade of aluminum or aluminum alloy, cladding, the sizes of slabs and accuracy of manufacturing a consumer shall specify in the order. In the absence of the requirements in the order the accuracy of manufacturing shall be determined by a manufacturer. Conventional designations of slabs in the order shall be put down as follows: E x a m p l e s o f c o n v e n t i o n a l d e s i gn a t i o n s : Slab made from aluminum alloy of grade 16 with normal cladding, 20 mm thick, 1200 mm wide, 3000 mm long, of normal thickness accuracy of manufacturing: 16. 20 × 1200 × 3000 17232-99 The same for heightened thickness accuracy of manufacturing: 16. 20 × 1200 × 3000 17232-99 4.3 Characteristics 4.3.1 Basic modification 4.3.1.1 Slabs shall be manufactured from aluminum and aluminum alloys of all grades specified in clause 4.1, of normal accuracy of manufacturing, without cladding or with technological or normal cladding. Thickness, width and length of slabs, as well as their maximum deviations, shall comply with the values specified in tables 1, 2 and clauses 4.2.3 to 4.2.5. 4.3.1.2 Slabs shall be manufactured without heat treatment. 4.3.1.3 Aluminum alloys, whose chemical composition is specified in table 4, shall be used for slabs cladding, depending on the grade of an alloy to be cladded.
