This British Standard is also in agreement with Harmonized Document HD 245.3 S3:2001, which was published by the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC). National annex NA reproduces verbatim Amendment 1 to IEC 60027-3:1989, published March 2000. IEC 60027 consists of general and specific parts with purely electric character, under the title Letter symbols to be used in electrical technology. Only the specific parts with electric character will be published in this series, as the general parts will be harmonized with the ISO 31 series (to form ISO 80000 series) including Part 1. Other parts comprise: Part 2: Telecommunications and electronics; Part 3: Logarithmic quantities and units. This British Standard has been numbered Part 3 to reflect the fact there are other parts in the IEC series. A British Standard does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct application. Compliance with a British Standard does not of itself confer immunity from legal obligations.
