This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by March 2009, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by March 2009. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights. CEN and/or CENELEC shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights. CEN/TC 132 affirms it is its policy that in the case when a patentee refuses to grant licenses on standardised standard products under reasonable and not discriminatory conditions, then this product shall be removed from the corresponding standard. This document supersedes EN 1301-3:1997. Within its programme of work, Technical Committee CEN/TC 132 entrusted CEN/TC 132/WG 4 “Wires and drawing stock“ to revise EN 1301-3:1997. Besides editorial adjustments in the text and update of normative references the following changes have been made: Foreword: amended; Clause 3: amended. EN 1301 comprises the following parts under the general title “Aluminium and aluminium alloys Drawn wire“: Part 1: Technical conditions for inspection and delivery Part 2: Mechanical properties Part 3: Tolerances on dimensions According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. It applies to drawn wires, except for electrical or welding purposes. It does not apply to drawing stock. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies. EN 1301-1, Aluminium and aluminium alloys Drawn wire Part 1: Technical conditions for inspection and delivery 3 Tolerances on dimensions 3.1 General The conditions for the sampling and the measurement of dimensions shall be in accordance with EN 1301-1. The tolerance on dimensions of drawn wires depends on its cross section. They are specified in Tables 1 to 3.
