BRITISH STANDARD BS CECC 40301:1988 (Including Amendment No. 1) Specification for Harmonized system of quality assessment for electronic components Blank detail specification Fixed precision resistors Licensed Copy: London South Bank University, London South Bank University, Fri Dec 08 17:04:30 GMT+00:00 2006, Uncontrolled Copy, (c) BSI BS CECC 40301:1988 © BSI 03-2000 ISBN 0 580 35506 3 National foreword This British Standard has been prepared under the direction of the Electronic Components Standards Committee. It is identical with CENELEC Electronics Components Committee (CECC) 40301:1975: “Harmonized system of quality assessment for electronic components. Blank detail specification: fixed precision resistors” as amended by Amendment No. 1 (1986). This standard is a harmonized specification within the CECC system. Details of national implementation of CECC standards is given in BS 9000-2:1983 “Specification for national implementation of CECC basic rules and rules of procedure”. Terminology and conventions. The text of the CECC specification has been approved as suitable for publication as a British Standard without deviation. Some terminology and certain conventions are not identical with those used in British Standards. Attention is drawn especially to the following. The comma has been used as a decimal marker. In British Standards it is current practice to use a full point on the baseline as the decimal marker. A British Standard does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct application. Compliance with a British Standard does not of itself confer immunity from legal obligations. Summary of pages This document comprises a front cover, an inside front cover, pages i and ii, the CECC title page, pages ii to iv, pages 1 to 6 and a back cover. This standard has been updated (see copyright date) and may have had amendments incorporated. This will be indicated in the amendment table on the inside front cover. The object of the System is to facilitate international trade by the harmonization of specifications and quality assessment procedures for electronic components, and by the grant of an internationally recognized Mark, or Certificate, of Conformity. The components produced under the System are thereby accepted by all member countries without further testing. This document has been formally approved by the CECC and has been prepared for those member countries taking part in the System who wish to prepare and issue detail specifications for FIXED PRECISION RESISTORS. It should be read in conjunction with document CECC 00100: Basic Rules (1974). At the date of printing of this document the member countries of the CECC are Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, and copies of it can be obtained from the National Committees of the CENELEC in these countries. Preface This blank detail specification was prepared by CECC Working Group 4: “RESISTORS”. It is one of a series of blank detail specifications for fixed precision resistors, all relating to the generic specification printed as CECC 40000 and the sectional specification printed as CECC 40300. The text of this specification has been prepared from the information contained in CECC 40000 and CECC 40300. It was circulated to the CECC for voting in the documents listed below and was formally approved by the CECC for publication as a CECC Specification on 7 November 1973: DocumentVoting date CECC(Secretariat) 6010 January1972 CECC(Secretariat) 8330 June1972 CECC(Secretariat) 12710 May1973 Licensed Copy: London South Bank University, London South Bank University, Fri Dec 08 17:04:30 GMT+00:00 2006, Uncontrolled Copy, (c) BSI BS CECC 40301:1988 iv © BSI 03-2000 The numbers between square brackets on the first page correspond to the following indications which should be given: Identification of the harmonized detail specification 1 The name of National Standards Organization under whose authority the detail specification is drafted. 2 The CECC number of the relevant blank detail specification. 3 The number and issue number of the national generic specification. 4 The national number of the detail specification, date of issue and any further information required by the national system. Identification of the resistor 5 A short description of the type of resistor. 6l Information on typical construction (where applicable) e.g. wirewound insulated. 7 Outline drawing with main dimensions which are of importance for interchangeability and/or reference to the national or international documents for outlines. Alternatively, this drawing may be given in an appendix to the detail specification. 8 Application or group of applications covered. 9 Reference data on the most important properties, to allow comparison between the various resistor types.
