Foreword to amendment A1 This document (EN 12480:2002/A1:2006) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 237 “Gas meters”, the secretariat of which is held by BSI. This Amendment to the European Standard EN 12480:2002 shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by November 2006, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by November 2006. This document has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of EU Directive 2004/22, Measuring Instruments Directive (MID). For relationship with EU Directive, see informative Annex ZA, which is an integral part of this document. According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom. This European Standard applies to rotary displacement gas meters used to measure the volume of fuel gases of the 1st, 2ndand 3rdgas families, the composition of which is specified in EN 437, at a maximum working pressure up to and including16 bar over a gas temperature range of at least 10 °C to + 40 °C. 2NORMATIVE REFERENCES This European Standard incorporates by dated or undated references provisions from other publications. These normative references are cited at the appropriate places in the text, and the publications are listed hereafter. For dated references, subsequent amendments to or revisions of any of these publications apply to this European Standard only when incorporated in it by amendment or revision. For undated references the latest edition of the publication referred to applies (including amendments). EN 437, Test gas - Test pressures Appliance categories.
