The most recent editions of the standards (including amendments) indicated below shall be applied. For the purpose of this Standard, the definitions given in JIS Z 4 Quality 4.1 and shall meet the requirements given in table 1. Furthermore, the adhe- sion shall not be lost. Furthermore, the pressure sensitive adhesive shall not fall off from the adhesive face to stick to the back. 4.2 according to 5.8 and shall meet the requirements given in table 2. Dimensions The dimensions of tapes and dimensional tolerances shall be tested Table 2 Dimensions Unit: mm Tolerances on length Indicated length or longer Remarks 1 In an inevitable case, the agreement between parties concerned with de- livery can decide width, standard inner diameter of winding core and length of tape in a roll other than those given in table 2. The tolerances in this case shall be as given in table 2. 2 The joint line or cut line is allowed in one position in one roll. In this case, the length of one piece shall be 2 m or over. In addition, tapes may be coloured and printed. 5 Test Methods 5.1 the requirements specified in clause 4 of JIS Z 0237. General condition of tests The general condition of tests shall conform to 5.2 The measurement of tensile strength and elongation shall conform to the requirements specified in clause 8 of JIS Z 0237. In this case, the length of test piece shall be about 150 mm, and the elongation shall be measured by reading the distance between two benchmarks which have been marked at an interval of 50 mm at its middle. Tensile strength and elongation 5.3 lows: a) Adhesive strength The test of adhesive strength shall be performed as fol- Normal condition Determine the peeling strength at a 180-degree angle against test panel and backing test panel according to clause 10 of JIS Z 0237. After immersion in warm water According to clause 10 of JIS Z 0237, stick test pieces to test panel and backing test panel, pressurize, then after 20 min to 40 min have elapsed, immerse in warm water at 70 “C f 3 “C for 5 h, then take out from warm water, wipe off the water on the surface by dry cloth, allow to stand still in standard condition for 60 min to 120 min and determine the adhesive strength according to the same method as that in a). b) 5.4 Insulation Resistance 5.4.1 Sodium chloride solution The solution obtained by resolving about 3 g of sodium chloride of guaranteed grade specified in JIS K 8150 or grade equivalent or superior to this in quality in 100 ml of water. 5.4.2 Apparatus and instrument lows: a) Electrodes Metallic electrode with area 20 cm2 or over b) The apparatus and instrument shall be as fol- Insulation resistance tester Tester with rated voltage 500 V or over speci- fied in JIS C 1302. 5.4.3 Operation The operation shall be performed as follows: a) Take three test pieces with a width of 25 mm and a length of 170 mm from the sample, stick the adhesive surfaces of two test pieces to each other and then stick fast the adhesive face of remaining test piece on its back a copper wire having a diameter of 2 mm put between them at the position shown in figure 1. Perform this test for 3 laminated test bodies and take as the insulation re- sistance the minimum of measured values. Avoid flat piling for the purpose of preventing deformation.
