3、rd is the UK implementation of EN 15609:2008. Current practice in the UK is to comply with Code of Practice 18, Safe Use of LPG as a Propulsion Fuel for Boats, Yachts and other Craft (September 2003), issued by the LP Gas Association (now UKLPG). The main differences between the Code of Practice and
4、 this British Standard are: There is a requirement to use the new light euro-filling unit in accordance with EN 12806 (Subclause 5.7.4); the filling unit specified in the Code of Practice is a unit designed for the UK Marine market in association with H.M. Customs the UK Code of Practice recommends
5、1 filler per boat. Subclause 4.2.3.2 states that each tank shall be equipped with an individual tank level indicator. According to the Code of Practice, tank indicators are optional, and currently often only one or sometimes two tanks have indicators. In 5.10.1, there is a requirement to fit a syste
6、m that will activate a two- stage alarm system (low level of gas starts an alarm, higher level starts up the fan ventilation system); the Code of Practice recommends a single- stage system. The European committee responsible for this standard are starting the revision process in February 2009. Users
7、 of this standard should be aware of the differences between the requirements of this standard and provisions given in Code of Practice 18. The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted to Technical Committee PVE/19, LPG containers and their associated fittings. A list of organizations repre
8、sented on this committee can be obtained on request to its secretary. This publication does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. 32、ntroduction This European Standard specifies requirements for the installation of equipment for the use of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (hereafter referred to as LPG) in automotive propulsion systems. This European Standard calls for the use of substances and procedures that can be injurious to health if
33、 adequate precautions are not taken. It refers only to technical suitability and does not absolve the user from legal obligations relating to health and safety at any stage. It has been assumed in the drafting of this European Standard that the execution of its provisions is entrusted to appropriate
