19、lding.Itrecognizesthattherearetwosomewhatdifferentapproachesintheglobalmarkettoclassifyingagivenwireelectrode,wire,rodordeposit,andallowsforeitherorbothtobeused,tosuitaparticularmarketneed.Applicationofeithertypeofclassificationdesignation(Orofbothwheresuitable)identifiesaproductasclassifiedinaccord
20、ancewiththisdocument.TheclassificationinaccordancewithsystemAwasmainlybasedonEN12070:1999whichhasbeenwithdrawnandreplacedbythisdocument.TheclassificationinaccordancewithsystemBismainlybaseduponstandardsusedaroundthePacificRim.Thisdocumentproposesaclassificationsystemforwireelectrodes,wiresandrodsint
21、ermsoftheirchemicalcompositionand,whererequired,intermsoftheyieldstrength,tensilestrengthandelongationoftheall-weldmetaldeposit.Theratioofyieldtotensilestrengthofweldmetalisgenerallyhigherthanthatofparentmetal.Usersshouldnotethatmatchingweldmetalyieldstrengthtoparentmetalyieldstrengthdoesnotnecessar
22、ilyensurethattheweldmetaltensilestrengthmatchesthatoftheparentmaterial.Wheretheapplicationrequiresmatchingtensilestrength,selectionoftheconsumableshouldbemadebyreferencetocolumn4ofTable4.Itshouldbenotedthatthemechanicalpropertiesofall-weldmetaltestpiecesusedtoclassifytheelectrodes,wiresandrodsvaryfr
