3、dle school, its easy to learn. In this unit,we will learn how to introduce ourselves, learn how to make friends,and learn how to greet people. This is an important and useful lesson in Book One,because its related to our daily life closely.If the students can learn it well,it will be helpful to impr
4、ove their learning ability and arouse the interest in learning English.Second, Teaching aims 1. Knowledge of language: Learn the new words;Learn the sentences“Whats your name? My name isNice to meet you” Learn how to greet people.2. Practical skills: To understand the passages in book and learn to i
5、mmigrate knowledge from “Whats your name?” to “Whats his/her name?”3. Personal development :To inspire students to learn English, and develop the ability to make friends.Third, Teaching emphasis and Teaching difficulties : 1.Learn the new words and new sentences:Whats your name? Next, Teaching methods and Learning methods1.As we know, teaching English at middle schools aims at students basic skills in listening and speaking and their interest in English
7、 So I find its necessary to design a task-based class .So in this lesson,Ill use“Task-based” teaching method : Students will be assigned to make conversations in limited time. This task will make it possible for the students to pick up the language in an authentic way.2.Game teaching method:Ill let
8、 the students to take part in the game,it can help tostrengthen their ability to make friends and improve their learning interest.3 Cooperative inquiry method : Encourage students to communicate in English as much as possible.Encourage students to work hard to be NO.1 in the English class.Teaching p
9、rocedures:Step 1 Warm-upStart class with a song.It can help to draw students attention in class.And I shall have the students join in the singing Step2 PresentationShow the new words and new sentences, explain the meaning.1.Surpose I want to know someone or I want to make friend with him/her,how can
10、 I ask his/her name?Let the students think about it.And then Ill lead in the sentences-“Whats your name?”and “ My name is” 2.Learn the new words according to phonetics.I think its helpful for students to master the pronunciation of the new words.And then Ill ask the students to make sentences use th
11、e new words.3.Show the pictures and review the words we had learnt in Starter Units 13.By showing the pictures of the words,I think they can memorize the words easily and directly.4.Finish 1a.Step3 PracticeMake the whole class into 8 groups, each member ask another one a question, use the sentences
